Layout Blocks

  • Introduction

    Each web page contains of a number of layout blocks (LB). Optionally it may contain sub-pages. To keep the structure clear and concise use the following steps to organise the structure of pages, layout blocks and sub-pages.

    1. Add (LB) at the end of layout blocks' names
    2. Separate layout blocks from sub-pages by appropriate indexing (1-499 for layout blocks and 500-xxx for sub-pages)
    3. Un-publish pages and layout blocks that are not in use

  • Layout Blocks

    Each page is built of a number of Layout Blocks.
    Each Layer Block (LB) can be treated as a table row. The order of LBs on a page depends on indexes applied.
    Each LB can contain up to three blocks (columns).

  • New Layout Block

    In order to create a new layout block follow these steps:

    1. right click on a page, where it is to be displayed, and select Create New
    2. select Page Templates (v2 sites only).
    3. choose (v2) Layout Blocks from the list of available options

    Please note! At the end of Layout Block's name add (LB)

  • Blocks

    For each block the following elements can be specified:

    1. Block image
    2. Headline
    3. Link for an image
    4. Content

    Content may consist of various elements, including text, images, carousel sliders, etc.
    If only one block is populated with data then it will use the full width of a page. If other blocks are populated with data then they will display in columns of the same width.

    Step one

    Make sure that Show on parent page check box in Information tab is ticked.

    Step two

    Make sure that Display page in menus check box in Advanced Information tab is UNticked.

    Step three

    Select appripriate Index.
